Four Parks, One World...End of the 2010-2011 School Year

So...I know I am a little late in posting but I have been trying to finish up the school year. I am now proud to say that I have made it through my first year at my new school in Virginia. I didn't think I was going to survivie!! Haha...You would think that 10 years in the classroom would prepare me for this new endevour...boy, was I shocked?!?!?! But I finished and through all the complaints, I absolutley loved it and I am already planning the 2011-2012 school year.
Even though, I am done teaching for the year...my job isn't done. I have 2 weeks worth of trainings, and I am pretty excited about it!! I will keep you all posted!
And now to the the GOOD STUFF...
Geekery Scraps by Kayla just realeased her latest template package called Four Parks

They were absolutely fun to play around with...Here's what I created...
I used paper and flower embellishments form Connie Prince's Time to Plant  and Kellybell's City of Tomorrow for the alpha and embellishments.

For this one, I used paper from Natalie's Place Designs Magic Shop and Keystone Scraps Mouse Memories to decorate.
Wanna see more?? Head over to Geekery Scraps to what our other amazing CT members did and to purchase this fabulous kit!
Best of all, I started using my Photoshop Elements for these templates. In such a short period of time, I learned so much...and now that school is out for the summer, I will dedicating more time to learning how to use this program. So stayed tuned for more from me!
Talk soon....and keep scrappin'!!

Need Some Rejuvenation!!

Have you ever woken up in the morning and just felt like you have gotten older over night??? Well, that is how I have been feeling lately...especially when you are trying to redirect middle schoolers on a daily basis...;)
So to cure these feelings my hubby and I decided to take a trip to the National Zoo in DC today!
What a beautiful day!! Not too hot and no humidity (my Mother Nature enemy...haha!) Now I love public transportation out here but it literally took us over an hour to get there...whatever...at least I didn't have to drive (which I think is worse than heat and humidity!) :0)
Going to the zoo always makes me feel like a kid again!! What a great trip! Had so much fun! Too bad the giant pandas decided that it would be better to lounge out in front in their air conditioned cave than give us a show. Yes folks you heard it right...the pandas in DC have AC. That's just too funny!
Like I said before, it was a gorgeous day out and I am feeling quite rejuvenated!! 2 weeks left of school, and I am now starting the offical countdown!! Wish me luck!!

On another note...here are a few things that I was working on this week...

Isn't this the cutest stuff??? It is all from Geekery Scraps by Kayla her Mickey & Friends kits.
Enjoy and have a great week!!

Here we go...

Well...I have thought about this for a long time now (well, actually since we moved to DC in August) to start a blog about me (and my hubby and pets) and our travels in and around the DC Metro area. I realized that not very many people get to experience the nation's capital, let alone live there.
Moving right along...for Christmas, my hubby finally gave into my dream and we went to Disney to celebrate Christmas. What a magical experience!! Definite must and will do it again!!
I have been a scrapbooker for years now and for the last year, I have been playing around with digital scrapbooking...but it wasn't until I returned from Disney...I have found several sites that has turned on my creativity!!
So...in addition to our adventures in and around DC, I will also be sharing my journey as a scrapbooker.
And,,,of course,,,like my title states, I cannot forget to include all my beautiful handbags that my hubby likes to buy for me... :0)
Here is my latest layout that I posted at Mousescrappers.com
